Called to Pray Review

Hello All I hope you are having a blessed day, today I will be doing another book review from Revell A division of Baker Publishing Group. I received a book called: Called to Pray By: Linda Evans Shepherd for free for my honest opinion.

Book Description

When you feel a nudge to pray, what will you do?

Most of us have felt it at one time or another: that unexplained prompting in our hearts to stop and pray for a friend, a loved one, or even a stranger. Sometimes we are even awakened from a deep sleep with an even deeper need to go to God in prayer. Where do those urges come from? Are they truly from God? Or are they merely stray thoughts? And if we respond in prayer, are others' lives affected at all?

In Called to Pray, Linda Evans Shepherd shares dozens of inspiring true stories of people who have heeded God's call to pray and the astonishing results of those impromptu prayers. Through accounts of people being protected from harm and rescued from danger, of needs being met and hearts being encouraged, you'll see that God is involved in an active and dynamic relationship with us--and that we can be part of his plan to bless others.

If you have ever wondered if prayer has any real effect or doubted that God communicates with us personally, this heart-stirring book will amaze, inspire, and equip you to respond to those holy promptings.

Linda Evans Shepherd is an award-winning author, a popular speaker, and a radio personality. The president of Right to the Heart Ministries, she is the author of several books, including When You Don't Know What to Pray, Experiencing God's Presence, and The Stress Cure. She and her husband live in Colorado.

My overall opinion on this book is I really love the inspirational stories and the results from prayer. I think this book is great for anyone because I think we all need to pray more and trust god and know that the outcome of our prayer will workout the way good intended for them to work out. This book makes you want to pray more because prayer is so important and shows that you are trusting in god that your problems will workout. The author did a awesome job writing this book and this book is a must have in your home, and a great gift for family.

Hello All I hope you are having a blessed day, today I will be doing another book review from Revell A division of Baker Publishing Group. I received a book called: Murder at the Courthouse By A.H. Gabhart for free for my honest opinion.

Michael Keane's stressful days as a Columbus police officer are done. He's ready to relax into his new position as deputy sheriff in his sleepy hometown. Nothing ever happens in Hidden Springs, Kentucky--and that's just fine with Michael.

Nothing, that is, until a dead body is discovered on the courthouse steps. As Michael works to solve the case, it seems that every nosy resident in town has a theory. When the sheriff insists Michael check out one of these harebrained theories, his surprising discovery sends him on a bewildering search for a mysterious killer that has him questioning everything he has ever believed about life in Hidden Springs.

Bringing with her a knack for creating settings you want to visit and an uncanny ability to bring characters to life, A. H. Gabhart pens a whodunit that will keep you guessing.

You Can't Text a Tough Conversation

Hello All I hope you are having a blessed day, today I will be doing another book review from Revell A division of Baker Publishing Group. I received a book called: You Can't Text a Tough Conversation By Mike Bechtle for free for my honest opinion.

About The Book

When it comes to the tough stuff, we need real, face-to-face conversations. But have we lost the art?

There's no denying that as our use of technology has increased, our communication skills have decreased. Technology creates the illusion of being in touch, but we lose the deeper meaning conveyed by body language, facial expression, and tone of voice. We text when we should talk. We tweet firings and breakups. We vent our frustrations with other people online. Whether it's with a spouse, a friend, a boss, a co-worker, or children, those tough conversations create high anxiety. In the end, what we have are broken relationships and hurt feelings.

In this timely book, communication expert Mike Bechtle shows you how to build strong relationships, offering tried-and-true methods to navigate the muddy waters of having tough conversations--in person. With his help, you'll learn to be a better listener, give and receive genuine feedback, saturate your relationships with kindness, and much more--so that you'll feel confident when it comes time to actually talk.

Review

My honest opinion is that the book is okay, its not a favorite of mine but it definitely talked about somethings that are totally true in my opinion. People have no communication skills now days instead of calling you they test you. What happen to the good oh calling you on your birthday now you get a text saying happy birthday. Please also are sending group text to invite you to parties instead of calling you or even sending you an invite in the mail people are getting lazy with there communications skills. Overall good information but just not my cup of tea, but the author did an awesome job.
