Killing Us Softly Book Review

Hello All I hope you are having a blessed day, today I will be doing another book review from http://www.tyndaleblognetwork.com/ I received a book called: Killing Us Softly Reborn in the Upside-Down Image of God  By: Efrem Smith for free for my honest opinion.

Book Description

The Christian life is actually a kind of death. We die to ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Jesus. Dying in Christ, however, is an opportunity—to experience the comforting presence of the Holy Spirit as we spread the Good News of a God who loves us enough to save us and remake us in his image.

Efrem Smith helps us see that Christian discipleship is a counterintuitive life. In a world turned upside down by sin, God carefully and lovingly strips us of worldly values and turns us right-side up as good citizens and ambassadors of his Kingdom.

My Opinion

First off let me say the book cover is so beautiful and the fill of the book fills really soft and smooth. The book is not to long so you can finish the book really fast. This  book keep me entertained it was a really good read the book draws you in. This book is a must read to all Christians, The author does a great job explaining the scripture in a great way to make you want to continue to read.
Efrem Smith helps us see that Christian discipleship is a absurd life. In a world turned upside down by sin, God carefully and lovingly strips us of worldly values and turns us right-side up as good citizens and ambassadors of his Kingdom.

Hello All I hope you are having a blessed day, today I will be doing another book review from http://www.tyndaleblognetwork.com/ I received a book called: 41 Will Come By: Chuck E. Tate for free for my honest opinion.

Book Description:

A bold declaration of faith, "41 Will Come" is a shot of encouragement and hope for everyone who desperately needs to hear ""God is with you." Your story is not over. You are not defeated."In the Bible, it rained for forty days and forty nights. Day 41 came and the rain stopped. The people of Israel wandered the wilderness for forty years. Day 41 came and a new generation entered the Promised Land. For forty days, Goliath bullied Israel and dared anyone to fight him. Day 41 came and David slew Goliath.Do you see the theme? Don't quit. Don't give up. Perhaps you're stuck in a downpour or lost in one of life's deserts. Maybe you're facing someone or something that could take you down. You might feel stuck on your journey, but 41 will come--it's on its way.No matter how long your battle--days, weeks, or years--Chuck Tate offers you seven keys to help you hang on to the promise and truth that God will come through for you.

My Opinion

I really enjoyed this book, this book is a book we all need especially in this day in age with all the things going on in the world and in our lives. We all go though tough times in our lives and its such a blessing to know that whatever we face the lord will get us through. I love how the author included stories from the bible on how people of the bible over came there tribulations and how we can over come them to and not to give up. The Author talks about seven steps to help you move from fear to faith and from indecision to action, when facing your trial.

1. Know your enemy.
2. Embrace your cause.
3. Smash fear in the mouth.
4. Shake off your doubts and doubters.
5. Prepare in order to receive a payoff.
6. Word Up! Read, study and declare the Word of God!
7. Attack the giant standing between you and your victory!

Opinion

My husband normally uses a non spray deodorant so he was a little skeptical about it. He is so use to using what he currently uses  so he was worried that this product might not keep him feeling fresh like his current deodorant. He liked the scent he had which was Extra Fresh Scent. To test the product out my husband played some basket ball to see if the dry spray will keep him fresh and not stinky.

So after he played basketball he still felt fresh but not as fresh as his current deodorant, and he said when he was taking a show the product made his under arms feel really dry. Overall my husband said the product was okay as fair as the scent and how fresh he felt after playing basketball. But was not happy with how dry his under arms was.

My Review

When I first saw this book I  was surprised it was so small but then I realized, its a good thing because it can fit in my purse and I can take it everywhere with me. I also noticed how  beautiful the cover its leather or faux leather like material. I love that the front of the book has the scripture:

Psalm 145:18 ("The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth.")

This book is a blessing I love the fact that you can tap into gods promises  when you are at your point of need. For instance say you are feeling worried about a certain situation in your life, you can look in the book and find scriptures related to gods promises like: Philippians 4:6-7( "Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying pray".) No matter what you are going through you can go and read the prayer points and meditate on gods promises, this is a must have book its a bless that everyone needs to carry with them daily.

You Can't Text a Tough Conversation

Hello All I hope you are having a blessed day, today I will be doing another book review from Revell A division of Baker Publishing Group. I received a book called: You Can't Text a Tough Conversation By Mike Bechtle for free for my honest opinion.

About The Book

When it comes to the tough stuff, we need real, face-to-face conversations. But have we lost the art?

There's no denying that as our use of technology has increased, our communication skills have decreased. Technology creates the illusion of being in touch, but we lose the deeper meaning conveyed by body language, facial expression, and tone of voice. We text when we should talk. We tweet firings and breakups. We vent our frustrations with other people online. Whether it's with a spouse, a friend, a boss, a co-worker, or children, those tough conversations create high anxiety. In the end, what we have are broken relationships and hurt feelings.

In this timely book, communication expert Mike Bechtle shows you how to build strong relationships, offering tried-and-true methods to navigate the muddy waters of having tough conversations--in person. With his help, you'll learn to be a better listener, give and receive genuine feedback, saturate your relationships with kindness, and much more--so that you'll feel confident when it comes time to actually talk.

Review

My honest opinion is that the book is okay, its not a favorite of mine but it definitely talked about somethings that are totally true in my opinion. People have no communication skills now days instead of calling you they test you. What happen to the good oh calling you on your birthday now you get a text saying happy birthday. Please also are sending group text to invite you to parties instead of calling you or even sending you an invite in the mail people are getting lazy with there communications skills. Overall good information but just not my cup of tea, but the author did an awesome job.

I received a book called: You Can't Text a Tough Conversation By Mike Bechtle for free for my honest opinion.
