The Gospel According to Paul Embracing the Good News at the Heart of Paul's Teachings Review

Hello All I hope you are having a blessed day, today I will be doing another book review from http://www.booklookbloggers.com/. I received a book called: The Gospel According to Paul Embracing the Good News at the Heart of Paul's Teachings Review for free for my honest opinion By: John MacArthur  Published By: Thomas Nelson

Book Description

From master-expositor and Bible teacher John MacArthur, a revelatory exploration of what the apostle Paul actually taught about the good news of Jesus

The apostle Paul penned a number of very pithy, focused passages in his letters to the early church that summarize the gospel message in just a few well-chosen words. Each of these key texts has a unique emphasis highlighting some essential aspect of the Good News.

The chapters in this revelatory new book closely examine those vital gospel texts, one verse at a time. John MacArthur, host of the popular media ministry Grace to You, president of the Master’s University and Seminary, and longtime pastor at Grace Community Church, tackles such questions as, What is the gospel? What are the essential elements of the message? How can we be certain we have it right?

And how should Christians be proclaiming the Good News to the world? As always, the answers John MacArthur gives are clear, compelling, well-reasoned, easy to grasp, and above all, thoroughly biblical. The Gospel According to Paul is written in a style that is easily accessible to lay people, including those who know very little about the Bible, while being of great value to seasoned pastors and experienced ministers.

My Opinion

I wanted to get more into the gospel of Paul and how Paul is involved with the writing of a lot of the old testament . I have read a lot of books from John MacArthur and I like his books. This one was okay I like how easy it was to read bit not sure it gave me what I was looking for. But it was okay, not my favorite book from the author.

Killing Us Softly Book Review

Hello All I hope you are having a blessed day, today I will be doing another book review from http://www.tyndaleblognetwork.com/ I received a book called: Killing Us Softly Reborn in the Upside-Down Image of God  By: Efrem Smith for free for my honest opinion.

Book Description

The Christian life is actually a kind of death. We die to ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Jesus. Dying in Christ, however, is an opportunity—to experience the comforting presence of the Holy Spirit as we spread the Good News of a God who loves us enough to save us and remake us in his image.

Efrem Smith helps us see that Christian discipleship is a counterintuitive life. In a world turned upside down by sin, God carefully and lovingly strips us of worldly values and turns us right-side up as good citizens and ambassadors of his Kingdom.

My Opinion

First off let me say the book cover is so beautiful and the fill of the book fills really soft and smooth. The book is not to long so you can finish the book really fast. This  book keep me entertained it was a really good read the book draws you in. This book is a must read to all Christians, The author does a great job explaining the scripture in a great way to make you want to continue to read.
Efrem Smith helps us see that Christian discipleship is a absurd life. In a world turned upside down by sin, God carefully and lovingly strips us of worldly values and turns us right-side up as good citizens and ambassadors of his Kingdom.

My Opinion

I really enjoyed  reading this book, I feel that that book will hit some area of everyone's life. For me I really enjoyed this section of the book, I wish I had this book almost 6 years ago when I had my son. This book would have came in handy the times I felt ashamed when I disciplined my son. But I am so happy that I have it now my son is still young and I can use what I learned in this book to help me.

I love in the book on page 140 there is a table that talks about Life-Giving Words For Parenting: There are Shame-Laden Words and Shame-Resilient Words, and example of Shame-laden words is (" You make me so angry!") instead use the Shame-Resilient Words which is (" I feel Angry that you...") This was a awesome book because sometimes as parents and really for me a first time parent sometimes we don't know the right things to say to our children. So this book really was something that has been a guide for me.

Elijah, God’s Mighty Prophet is a level 2 I Can Read, written in the tradition of the bestselling NIV Adventure Bible. In this story, Elijah the prophet has a tough job to do—convince a stubborn king and the Israelites that God is greater than anyone, including the god Baal.

My Opinion

I got this book to read to  my son and to let him know the person he was named after, and who Elijah the prophet was. I love this book it was a easy read and my  son who is 5 was able to understand. My Review

When I first saw this book I  was surprised it was so small but then I realized, its a good thing because it can fit in my purse and I can take it everywhere with me. I also noticed how  beautiful the cover its leather or faux leather like material. I love that the front of the book has the scripture:

Psalm 145:18 ("The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth.")

This book is a blessing I love the fact that you can tap into gods promises  when you are at your point of need. For instance say you are feeling worried about a certain situation in your life, you can look in the book and find scriptures related to gods promises like: Philippians 4:6-7( "Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying pray".) No matter what you are going through you can go and read the prayer points and meditate on gods promises, this is a must have book its a bless that everyone needs to carry with them daily.
